Sanborn, Iowa — The boil order has been lifted for Sanborn water customers.
Customers of the Sanborn Water Supply were notified on 1/18/18 of a water main break and were advised to boil their water before using for drinking. We are pleased to report that the work has been completed and the bacteria samples were satisfactory (they contained no bacteria). IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY TO BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USE. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Sanborn, Iowa — Due to a water main break, the Sanborn Water Department is advising residents to boil water before using it for drinking, or to use an alternate water source, such as bottled water.
According to a release from the City of Sanborn, residents in that community are advised to bring tap water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, then let it cool before using, or to utilize bottled water. Officials say bottled or boiled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice. They say the water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes.

Sanborn officials say the boil advisory is a precaution until bacterial samples are available. They Say Sanborn residents will be notified when those results are available, and when the advisory is lifted.
Sanborn’s Water System is working with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to resolve the situation.
