Sheldon, Iowa — Summer has given way to Autumn here in northwest Iowa, and it’s becoming the time of year when we start thinking about the upcoming flu season.
Dr. Amy Badberg is a physician with Sanford Sheldon Medical Center and Clinic, and she talked to us about the two best ways to avoid getting the flu.
Dr. Badberg says even if the strain of flu shot isn’t the right one for the season’s particular virus, it’s better than no vaccine at all.
She says flu shots are available at various locations around the area.
Dr. Badberg says there’s talk in medical circles that flu season may hit earlier than normal this year, so her best advice is don’t put off getting your flu shot, do it now.
