Sanford Sheldon’s Best Care for Better Babies Receives State Credential

SanfordSheldon, Iowa — Sanford Sheldon Medical Center’s Best Care for Better Babies program of O’Brien County recently became the 81st program to earn the distinction of the Iowa Family Support Credential.

Sanford Sheldon’s Clinical Manager for Sanford Home Health & Hospice, Scott Schlies, says the program had to meet 138 standards to qualify for receiving the Iowa Family Support Credential.

He says that, after meeting those standards, the program underwent an extensive peer review.

He says that, while the program is called Best Care for Better Babies, it really focuses on the whole family.

Sanford Sheldon’s Best Care for Better Babies Program is conducted through Sanford Home Health & Hospice, and has been in operation for about 15 years, according to Schlies.

The Iowa Family Support Credential is valid for five years.
