Saturday Night Power Outage In Sheldon

Date posted - December 29, 2013

Mid-American-EnergySheldon, Iowa — Several Sheldon homes and businesses were without power on Saturday night (December 28).

According to MidAmerican Energy spokesperson Tina Potthoff, they had 786 customers in the Sheldon area impacted by the power outage that began at 7:48 PM on Saturday. She says the cause was a downed wire, which caused customers on several circuits to lose power. She says the wire was actually laying on another wire when it came down.

Potthoff says MidAmerican crews started getting customers’ power restored at 8:39 PM with the final customers restored at 11 PM.

She says the repairs are complete.
