SCAT Supper To Help Ambulance Team Buy Power Cot; Sanford Health Fair Builds Awareness

SCAT supperSheldon, Iowa– It’s time for the annual Sheldon Community Ambulance Team fundraising supper. As usual, it will feature Pizza Ranch chicken, and as has been done in recent years, it will be held in conjunction with the Sanford Sheldon Health Fair out at the Sheldon Regional Airport, on Monday evening. (5/13)

We talked with Dianne Wolthuizen on the ambulance team and she tells us about the supper.

She says the proceeds of the supper will go towards a very useful piece of equipment.

They do encourage you to get your tickets early. They can be purchased from any SCAT member or at Vogel Paint and Glass. Wolthuizen also says they look forward to meeting people somewhere other than an emergency. She also mentioned that they’re always looking for more ambulance volunteers.

Rick Nordahl, CEO of Sanford Sheldon, tells us it’s important for them to see people in a different setting as well.

He highlights a new test they are offering.

Nordahl says they want to tell people about their acute care clinics, both in the outlying communities and their extended hours at the Sheldon Clinic. They’re also welcoming a new oncologist, Dr. Weng and a new lung disease specialist, Dr. Bacon, who will both be there. Plus, says Nordahl, it gives them the chance to showcase some of their less-known services.

The SCAT Supper and Sanford Health Fair is Monday night out at the airport. The health fair portion gets underway at 4:00 PM and runs until 7:30, with the supper from 5 to 7.
