School Board Meets Monday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will hold their regular monthly meeting for May on Monday evening at 5:00 in the high school library.

Among the items on their agenda for the meeting include a Public Hearing on the FY 2018 Budget Amendment.

Superintendent Robin Spears will share High School Dropout Rate information with the Board, as well as updating them on school make-up days for this school year.

Spears will also inform the Board that the City of Sheldon and the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation has challened the District to a rematch of the softball game that was held to break-in the new softball diamonds last year.

During Monday’s meeting, the School Board will be recognized for their service to the Sheldon District, during School Board Appreciation Week.

In other action, the Board will deal with a trio of Open Enrollment Applications, take up five employee resignations, and consider several employment contracts. They’re also expected to set meal prices for the 2018-19 school year, and consider a food service equipment purchase, along with numerous other items of business.

Monday’s meeting of the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education will begin at 5:00 pm in the Sheldon High School Library.
