School Board To Discuss 2016-17 Calendar, Other Issues

Sheldon high school 100_2191Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community Schools will hold their regular November meeting Wednesday, November 11th at 6:00 pm in the library at Sheldon High School.

Among the items facing the Board at Wednesday’s meeting will be the Draft of the 2016-17 District Calendar, and the Design Plan for the East Elementary Media Center.

The Board will also discuss one employee resignation, approve the contract for a Middle School Girls Basketball Coach, approve a trio of Volunteer Coaches, and designate Board Negotiating Team members.

In other action, the Board will act on the Superintendent’s recommendation that they approve a supplemental services contract for the Sheldon Middle School.  The Sheldon Middle School has been designated as a School In Need of Assistance School due to No Child Left Behind legislation.  Since this is the third consecutive year of this designation, the school district is required to provide Supplemental Educational Services to those students who qualify whose parents request it.

Wednesday’s meeting will be held at 6:00 pm in the Sheldon High School Library.
