School Board To Meet In Regular Session Wednesday Evening

 

Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will meet in regular session on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 in the high school library.

Among the items on the agenda, Superintendent Cory Meyer is expected to bring the Board up to date on the 1 – to – 1 Technology Initiative, which is scheduled for a January roll-out. Discussion will also take place regarding the growing needs of the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program at East Elementary.

In other business, the addition of soccer as an additional extra-curricular activity, as well as the details of the sharing of the program with Sibley-Ocheyedan will be voted on.

The proposed 2019-2020 District Calendar will be on the agenda at the meeting. The tentative calendar has the first day of classes set for August 23rd, and the last day of classes scheduled for May 28th. Commencement is tentatively scheduled for May 24th. The Board will finalize the calendar at the meeting.

In addition, the Board is expected to approve two Employee Resignations, and two Employee Contracts.

This month’s Sheldon School Board meeting will begin at 5:00 in the high school library.
