School Board To Meet Wednesday

Sheldon-Schools-logoSheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will take up several items of business when they hold their regular monthly meeting Wednesday evening.

Superintendent Robin Spears is scheduled to make a report on the District’s Preliminary Enrollment Figures for the 2016-17 school year.  Spears will also update the Board on an insurance dividend received from the District’s property and casualty insurer, EMC Insurance.

In other action, the Board will take up a pair of Open Enrollment Applications, handle one teacher resignation, and act on two employment contracts.  They’re also set to approve one volunteer coach, as well as approve the District’s participation in the Iowa Drug & Alcohol Testing Program with the Iowa Association of School Boards, which involves testing for bus drivers.

The Board will also be asked to consider a date change for their October monthly meeting, due to a schedule conflict with the regular date.

Wednesday’s meeting of the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education will be graveled to order at 6:00 pm in the high school library.
