Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will hold their regular January meeting Wednesday evening (January 10th) beginning at 5:00 pm.

The Board is scheduled to hear an update from the Tech Committee during this meeting. The Tech Committee met November 30th, and reviewed technology implementation for the 2017-18 School Year, and continuing work on the 1 to1 Study Guide, along with other topics. They’ll report to the School Board Wednesday.

Superintendent Robin Spears is scheduled to deliver a College and Career Readiness Report to the Board. The Postsecondary Readiness Reports include information on enrollment in colleges and universities, remedial course-taking rates, and postsecondary retention and completion rates for students who graduated from public high schools in Iowa.

The Board is also scheduled for a pair of Executive, or closed, Sessions during Wednesday’s meeting. The first is for an evaluation of the Superintendent, and the second for the purpose of discussing a collective bargaining position in negotiations with the Sheldon Education Association, the union representing the Sheldon Community School District’s teachers.

Wednesday’s meeting will get underway at 5:00 pm in the high school library.
