SCORE Mentors Sought
Date posted - February 15, 2013
Sheldon, Iowa — People from the Sheldon area interested in helping others start or improve a business gathered Thursday to hear information about SCORE, which used to stand for the “Service Corps Of Retired Executives,” but is now open to all business experts with something to share, whether they be retired or not. A Sheldon SCORE branch is in the organizational process, and Thursday’s meeting was designed to seek out potential mentors in the community.
SCDC Executive Director Mark Gaul says these mentors would assist new and existing businesses in facing challenges.
Gaul says the meeting was to determine the level of interest in participating in a SCORE branch.
Gaul says Thursday’s meeting generated some interest, but he says that if you were unable to attend, but would be interested in participating as a mentor, you can contact the SCDC office.
The Sheldon SCORE branch would be associated with the Iowa Lakes SCORE Chapter.
