Security System Almost Thwarts Sheldon Area Burglary, Authorities Looking For Public’s Help

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for clues, trying to solve a Sheldon area burglary case.
They report that about 3 PM on Sunday (3/17), they investigated a report of an attempted burglary that occurred at a residence northwest of Sheldon. Deputies determined that the burglary attempt took place sometime during the evening or overnight hours of Saturday, into Sunday.
The burglar or burglars gained entry to the residence by damaging a door. Once inside, they were turned away by a security system. A security camera on the outside of the house was taken.
