Seven People Taken To Hospital After Accident East Of Sioux Center

Sioux Center AmbulanceSioux Center, Iowa — Seven people were taken to a hospital after an accident near Sioux Center on Tuesday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:40 PM, 27-year-old Danielle Link of Rock Rapids was driving a 1992 Buick Park Avenue eastbound on 400th street, three miles east of Sioux Center. Thirty-two-year-old Sylvia Westra of Boyden was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan westbound on 400th Street. Link began turning left onto a driveway when she struck Westra on the roadway.

Westra and six passengers in the Dodge were transported by Sioux Center Ambulance to the Sioux Center Hospital.

The Buick sustained about $500 in damages. The Dodge sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages.

Link was cited for failure to yield on making a left turn and driving without a valid driver’s license.

The Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance crew assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
