Sheldon 4 Sheldon Relief Effort Begins

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon IA 4 Sheldon TX hurricane relief effort officially began Tuesday morning, with a semi-trailer parked along the south side of the Sheldon Community Building parking lot, open and ready to be loaded with relief supplies for Sheldon, Texas until 7:oo pm daily.  If you bring boxed relief supplies to the Sheldon 4 Sheldon trailer, please make sure the boxes are labeled.

At this Wednesday’s city council meeting, Mayor Katricia Meendering says she’ll sign a proclamation linking the two Sheldons.

She says it’s nice to see different organizations raising funds, but she wanted to see something, as she phrased it, “a little more personal.”

Both Hy-Vee and Fareway in Sheldon have lists of the relief items needed, and are offering the items at reduced prices.  To see the Hy-Vee relief supplies price list, please CLICK HERE.  For the Fareway relief supplies price list, please CLICK HERE.

If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation to help with the recovery effort, you can make a check payable to “Sheldon ISD Education Foundation”, and be sure to put “Harvey Relief” on the memo line of your check.  Donations can be dropped off at the Sheldon (IA) City Office.

In addition, Sheldon 4 Sheldon t-shirts are available. You can order a Sheldon 4 Sheldon T-Shirt to show your support by clicking HERE. All proceeds from the sale of t-shirts will go directly to the Sheldon, TX Relief Fund. Price is $15 for all youth sizes, as well as adult sizes through XL, $17 for 2XL, $20 for 3XL, and $22 for 4XL. The first order is due by Wednesday, September 6th at Noon. Order forms and payment can be dropped off at either KIWA Radio or Top Notch Stitching in downtown Sheldon.
