Sheldon Airport To Receive Federal Funds To Rehabilitate Runway

Sheldon Airport 3Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Airport has received some big funds from the federal government to keep up their runway.

We talked with Sheldon Regional Airport Commission Chairman Skip Tanner, who tells us about the grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.

He says the total project funds amount to $516,820, or just over half a million.

Tanner says the project will not affect the Celebration Days Flight Breakfast, as it will start after Labor Day.

Tanner says the fact that the FAA gave the Sheldon Regional Airport the extra funds speaks to the fact that the FAA realizes that the airport is an important airport in the area.
