Sheldon Area Power Outage On Sunday Caused By “Animal Contact”

Date posted - September 24, 2012

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon residents experienced a power outage on Sunday afternoon.

We talked with MidAmerican Energy spokesperson, Tina Potthoff. Pothoff said that power was out from approximately 1:07PM to 1:55 PM Sunday and the outage was caused by “animal contact”.

Potthoff says while they are sometimes able to map out a box of the affected area, in some cases they are not able to do that, just because of how the circuits run.

That was the case this time, and the map below shows streets around which there were outages.

The animal contact caused the college to lose power as well. MidAmerican Energy is Obsessively, relentlessly at your service.
