Primghar, Iowa — A Sheldon woman who is charged with 1st Degree Burglary and Assault Causing Bodily Injury has filed a plea of “not guilty.”

Sheldon police say the charges against 20-year old Kathryn Carroll stem from their investigation into an incident that took place earlier this year at the North Park Apartments in Sheldon, where she is alleged to have attempted to enter an apartment on May 8th, and allegedly shouted at the apartment’s female resident to let her in. Police accuse Carroll of tearing the screen off the entry door, reaching inside, and unlocking the door before allegedly assaulting the female resident.

Carroll is charged with 1st Degree Burglary, which is a Class B Felony, as well as Assault with Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor.

Arraignment in the case was to have been on Thursday, October 26th, but since she has filed a plea, that will no longer be needed. No trial or any other dates have yet been set by the court.
