Sheldon City Council Agenda Overview

Date posted - June 16, 2014

city councilThe Sheldon City council will have a long list of items on the agenda when they meet Tuesday June 17th, most of them are in what is called the consent agenda.

This means they are all covered in one motion, unless a council member singles out an item for discussion. For this meeting the consent agenda includes a resolution setting salaries for the coming fiscal year, consideration of a fire applicant and several cigarette permits as well as beer and wine permits and a liquor license.

In new business, the council will set the date and time for a public hearing on the Sheldon Regional Airport Runway Lighting Project and discuss a cemetery ordinance with a new rate schedule. The cemetery board has noted that they have not had a rate increase since 2008 and their rates are considerably lower than other city-owned cemeteries in the area.

Please note that this City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 4:30 in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
