Sheldon City Council Meets Wednesday, 4:30

Date posted - October 15, 2013

community services center 300pxSheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council meets today ( Wednesday) they will find a variety of items on the agenda.

They will hear a report from O’Brien County Economic Development Director Kiana Johnson;  consider several pay estimates for construction projects;  consider an easement agreement with HTC Communications; and consider “no parking” signs for the southern portion of  Iselin Avenue.  They will also consider an offer to purchase a city lot, as well as the sale of a lot in the Sunshine Addition.

The Council will also discuss an engineering proposal for street rehabilitation on sections of Tenth Street, Eleventh Street, Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue, and Fifth Avenue.    The proposal from DGR engineering of Rock Rapids mainly deals with surface rehabilitation and not full reconstruction.   And the council will be asked to review the Annual Urban Renewal report for the fiscal year 2012 to 2013.  This is a comprehensive summary of the City Urban Renewal projects, the city’s financial obligations for Urban Renewal and TIF taxing district data collection.

The Council meeting begins at 4:30 today in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
