Sheldon City Council Sets Date For Budget Hearing
Date posted - February 19, 2014
Sheldon, Iowa – When the Sheldon City Council met Wednesday they took no action on the agenda item listed as consideration of the sale of a lot in Trilogy Village. This was at the request of the party who had proposed to buy that lot. The council did approve a payment to Rens Construction for the downtown infrastructure project. City Manager Scott Wynja told the council they are still withholding $11,040 for the tree grates which have not yet arrived. He said there are a few other issues that are being resolved between the city, the contractor and the city’s engineer.
Public Works Director Todd Uhl told the council that the new deep well has been drilled and work with the well is being completed. He commented that it looks like the new well could meet or exceed the performance of the existing well. And the Council set March 5th as the date for a public hearing on the budget for the coming fiscal year.
