Sheldon City Council To Meet Wednesday

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council holds their regular meeting Wednesday (May 4th), they’ll dispose of a number of items via the Consent Agenda.

Some of the items on the Consent Agenda, which are decided on by a single vote, include Beer License Renewals for Dollar General and the Breu Haus; a Liquor License Renewal and Amendment for Casey’s East; and a new Liquor License for Durango’s. The Consent Agenda also includes the approval of the hiring of two new employees in the City Office to replace two employees who recently resigned, as well as the approval of an application to serve as a volunteer on the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, and the approval of a contract for the City’s annual audit.

In other action, the Council is expected to grant an easement to Lewis & Clark Regional Water System for a meter building and associated connecting pipe, talk about health insurance renewals, and consider a request for a Vintage Bike Parade in June.

The Council is also expected to hold the 1st reading of an ordinance amending sewer rates for fiscal year 22-23, which would go into effect on July 1st.
