Sheldon Council To Meet Tuesday Noon

Council ChambersSheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council has changed the date and time of their first meeting in May to Tuesday May 3rd at noon. The agenda for that meeting will consist of consideration of a proposal from the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation for a Runger Development Project. The Council will also be asked to consider a resolution approving the Preliminary Official Statement with regard to the $3.4-million General Obligation Capital Loan Note for construction of a new events center.

In other business, the Council will set the date and time for a public hearing on a budget amendment for the current fiscal year, act on the appointment of Erin Brown to fill a vacancy on the Library Board, and consider a proposed increase in the cost of legal services for the City.

The final item on the agenda will possibly be discussed in closed session to consider the purchase of property.

Tuesday’s noon meeting will be held in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
