Sheldon FFA Donates Sweet Corn To Hungry

Sheldon, Iowa — Hundreds of people in the area have had some free sweet corn this summer, thanks to the Sheldon FFA chapter.
Sheldon FFA Donates Sweet Corn
This summer the Sheldon FFA decided to plant a half acre of sweet corn just for donation to charity. This year they donated 135 dozen ears of sweet corn to The Banquet in Sioux Falls. Five Sheldon FFA Members went with FFA Advisor Gene Bomgaars to deliver sweet corn and they say it was a very rewarding experience.

They also donated 266 dozen ears of sweet corn to the Union Gospel Mission in Sioux Falls.

Picking of the sweet corn for these donations was done not only by FFA members, but they also opened it up to the community church youth groups and had different community members help pick all of the sweet corn.
