Sheldon FFA Officers Attend Leadership Workshop

Sheldon, Iowa — Earlier this month, Sheldon FFA Officers went to COLT, or Chapter Officer Leadership Training, at Dordt College in Sioux Center.

Sheldon FFA Chapter Reporter, Mariel Feekes says the purpose of the event was to have all officers in the Northwest part of the state get to know each other and fulfill the responsibilities of their respective office. She says Northwest District officers and some State officers were present to lead the training.

The day started with a group session where everyone was together. After the group session, people were separated into groups and sent to smaller group sessions to talk about different ways for everyone to be better leaders for their chapters. After those sessions, each of the officers went to a session with other members of the same office to collaborate on ideas and responsibilities of their office. The day concluded with lunch as an entire group at the Dordt College cafeteria.
