Sheldon Fire Company To Hold Firemen’s Fun Night Thursday

Sheldon, Iowa — This is National Fire Prevention Week, and the Sheldon Fire Company is celebrating with their Annual Firemen’s Fun Night, this Thursday, October 12th.

The evening will begin with Operation EDITH, which is the acronym for “Exit Drills In The Home”. Sheldon Assistant Fire Chief Randy Harms says Operation EDITH is a good time to plan and execute your fire drills at home, and talk about things to do, and NOT to do in case of fire.

Harms says there will be three showings of the movie Emoji at the Main Street Three Theatres Thursday night, with screenings at 5:30, 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

In addition, there will be swimming at the indoor pool at Holiday Inn Express, and from 7:00 to 9:00 games will be played at the Sheldon Fire Station, with bags of groceries, hams, and fire extinguishers as prizes.

Harms says if you haven’t already gotten tickets for any of the events, they will be available at the door for a donation to the Sheldon Fire Company.
