Date posted - October 31, 2012

Sheldon, Iowa — A fire call on Wednesday morning could have been much worse. Sheldon Fire Crews were called to a smoke report at Fieldcrest Assisted Living on Sheldon’s east side.

Fire crews were called out about 10 AM to the report smoke in one of the apartments.

According to Sheldon Fire Chief Jerry Meyer, there wasn’t a fire, it was just burnt toast. He says the fire department did use fans to air out the apartment.
