Sheldon, Iowa — The nice, albeit dry weather we’ve had so far in October sometimes makes us forget what time of the year it actually is. But all you have to do is look at the falling leaves and the displays in Sheldon stores to remind you that this is the month of Halloween.
We talked to Sheldon Chamber Director Shanelle Matus recently. She tells us that due to church night, they’re changing up the trick-or-treating schedule.
Trick-or-treating on Tuesday, October 30th:
- Sheldon Library 3:30-5:00pm
- Downtown Sheldon 4:30-5:30pm
- Citywide 5:00-7:00pm
- Sanford Senior Care 6:00-7:00pm
- Fear and Fun All In One 5:30-7:00pm
Matus says preparations are also underway already for the holiday season in Sheldon.

The kickoff is actually on December 3rd, but “25 Days of Christmas” showcases events in both November and December, and Merry Money will again be sold for a 12-hour period in November.
Again, due to church night — the Halloween festivities in Sheldon this year will be the day before Halloween, on Tuesday, October 30th.
