Sheldon Hot Dog Day Is Monday

Sheldon, Iowa — An extremely popular summer tradition is taking place in Sheldon Monday evening.

2019 Hot Dog Days will take place Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Sheldon merchants will be outside their stores on the sidewalks grilling up thousands of hot dogs to be served absolutely free! Hot Dog Day is a time that Sheldon’s merchants say “thank you” to their customers with the free franks.

Participating businesses in this year’s Hot Dog Day include: Ag Partners; Ameriprise Financial; Aventure Staffing; Ben Franklin; Cain Ellsworth & Company; Citizens State Bank; Downtown Hardware; Trevor Gottula of Edward Jones; Farm Bureau Financial Services; G&E Cabinetry; Sheldon Hy-Vee; KIWA Radio, Lewis Family Drug; Maintainer Corporation of Iowa, Inc; ProActive Physical Therapy; Sheldon Vision Care; Southwest Wholesale RV; VAMP Salon; and Wheelchair Dynamics, Inc.

In addition, there are a dozen Sheldon businesses battling for the “Top Dog” award, a contest to see which business comes up with the best, most creative hot dog toppings. You’ll even be able to enjoy music provided by KIWA Radio as you meander from business to business sampling the delicious frankfurters being served up.

And once you’ve eaten your fill of hot dogs, grab a delicious slice of watermelon served by the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation, located outside the Sheldon Community Services Center.
