Date posted - February 1, 2013

east elementary 290px for webSheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon KIDS Committee is hosting two more town meetings on Saturday to show people the expansion and remodeling plans they have for East Elementary in Sheldon.

KIDS Committee member Lisa Johnson tells us some of the details of the current plan.

She says in order for the project to proceed in its current plan, voters will have to decide the fate of more than one ballot issue.

Committee member Adam Besaw says he doesn’t think it’s common knowledge, but the School District is not paying for the Middle School building that was built with property tax dollars.

There are two more town hall meetings regarding the East Elementary project, both on Saturday (2/2):

  • Matlock Fire Hall – Saturday, February 2, 2013, 9:00 a.m.
  • Sheldon Community Building – Saturday, February 2, 2013, 10:30 a.m.

Again, the election to decide the fate of the improvements at East will be on Tuesday, February 5.
