Sheldon Man Arrested After Clay County Authorities Say He Left The Scene Of An Accident

Hand Cuffs sxcSpencer, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested after Clay County authorities say he left the scene of an accident.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that 24-year-old Andrew Houtsma of Sheldon was arrested on July 4th by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office. He was picked up on 2 Clay County warrants and was transported to the Clay County Jail.

The Clay County warrants were issued after an investigation of a minor motorcycle accident that occurred on June 29th near Stolley Park in Spencer.

Houtsma was charged with interference with official acts and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was booked into the Clay County Jail to appear before the Magistrate.
