The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 9:30 AM, 51-year-old Thomas Lidiak was eastbound on Highway 18, a half mile east of Sanborn in a 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup.
The report says the roads were partially covered with snow and ice. There were also strong winds. Lidiak lost control and the vehicle spun around and entered the south ditch. It rolled multiple times once it reached the edge of the plowed field coming to rest on its top.
Lidiak was taken to Sanford Sheldon Hospital by Sanborn Ambulance.
Lidiak’s Dodge Dakota pickup received $5000 damage.
