UPDATE: Date Set For Sheldon Middle School Community Service Projects

Sheldon, Iowa — During the first day of school this year at Sheldon Middle School, teachers and students came up with the idea of doing community service work this fall at various places around Sheldon.

Sheldon Middle School Principal Cindy Barwick says the project is still in the planning stages.

Mrs. Barwick says the scheduled date for the community service projects in October 26th.

She says they’re in the process of nailing down available projects. Barwick invites people and organizations to call her if you have a project with which you could use the students’ help on October 26th.

Again, if you need help with a project that can be accomplished in about 2-1/2 hours on the morning of Friday October 26th, please call Mrs. Barwick at 712-324-4346.

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Middle School is seeking community service projects that their older students can help with as a group.

Principal Cindy Barwick says they’re planning on possibly doing some projects for Village Northwest Unlimited, and potentially for the City of Sheldon, but she says they are looking for other  projects, as well.

Barwick says projects such as window washing, or raking leaves would be great ideas for the students. She says the students involved will be in the 7th and 8th grades, and will tackle the projects in groups of 12 to 14 students. She says the projects should take two to three hours to complete, and they are looking at undertaking the projects in late October.
