Sheldon Police Cite Two, Handle Accident

off lightbarSheldon, Iowa — In the latest from the Sheldon Police Department:

The police cited 21-year-old George Avila of Sheldon on Monday night (7/1/13) on a charge of Driving Under Suspension. He was cited and released.

Also cited on a charge of Driving Under Suspension was 22-year-old Autumn Leos of Sheldon. She was cited and released on early on Tuesday (7/2/13).

A Primghar woman’s pickup and a Sanborn woman’s car were damaged in an accident on Tuesday (7/2/13)in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 3:15 PM, 83-year-old Mina Thompson of Primghar was southbound in the Hy-Vee parking lot in eastern Sheldon in a 2001 Ford pickup. A 2002 Ford Taurus owned by Karen Buren of Sanborn was legally-parked in the lot.

The report says Thompson was trying to turn into a parking spot, but turned QUOTE “way too short” and struck the parked car.

Thompson’s Ford pickup received $1000 damage. Buren’s Ford Taurus received $2500 damage.

There were no injuries reported.

No charges were filed.
