UPDATE: Sheldon Police Cover Three Incidents, Including Theft Of Over $6,000 In Cash

The Sheldon Police say they took a report of a large amount of cash being stolen from a Sheldon address. A resident on Pine Street reported that someone stole $6,100.00 in cash from their home on Saturday or Sunday, June 21 or 22. No forcible entry was reported.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, June 25th, a Sheldon Police officer notified KIWA that the person who reported the theft of the $6100.00 in cash had called back and told police that the money hadn’t been stolen after all, it had just been misplaced, and it had since been found.

The police also report that a Sheldon resident was the victim of a scam on Sunday. They report that the victim said she was scammed by someone claiming to be with Microsoft, stating that the victim had a refund of $176. She gave the caller her Visa card number for her account to be credited. Later, she noticed that $348.50 was taken out of the account instead. The victim changed her account number.

Sheldon officers also report the citation of a Missouri man on an open container charge. They report that on Saturday evening, June 21, they cited 32-year-old Douglas Bressler of Manchester, Missouri on the charge. He was cited and released.
