Sheldon Police Department Covers Accident, Theft In Recent Days

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Police Department covered an accident, purse theft and arrested a Sheldon on a driving while suspended charge in recent days.
The Sheldon Police responded to an accident at approximately 1:43 AM Saturday morning on the 600 block of 6th street in Sheldon. 20-year-old Dalton Klein of Sheldon was backing out of the alley in a 2002 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck and struck a 2001 Chevy Metro driven by Blanca Salas of Sheldon that was traveling northbound on sixth avenue.
Damage to the Salas vehicle was estimated at $1,500 with minimal damage caused to the Klein pickup. Klein was cited for unsafe backing. There were no injuries to either driver.
A purse was stolen from North 7th Ave some time on November 24th and reported to the Sheldon Police department on Friday. The value of the purse and its contents was estimated at $340.
Sheldon Police Department reports the arrest of 52-year-old Gary Koerselman of Sheldon on the charge of driving under suspension Friday evening. Koerselman was taken in to custody and held at the O’Brien County Jail.
