Sheldon Police Handle Hit And Run, Theft Report, Drug Delivery

Officers took a report of a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Saturday, August 16th. The police report that the car that was hit was owned by Todd Miedema. The report says that Miedema’s daughter had parked the car in an alley in the 1000 block of Fifth Street. At midnight the report says she came out to her car and found that someone had struck the left rear of the car, causing $3500 in damage, and then left the scene.

The Miedema vehicle is a four-door 2006 Ford Fusion, which the report says was legally parked.

In other news from Sheldon Police…

Officers took a report of theft from a vehicle on Saturday, August 16th. The alleged crime is believed to have happened between 9:30 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon on Friday, August 15th. Reported stolen were 105 hydrocodone pills, which were taken from a pickup while it was parked at Noteboom RV. Hydrocodone is a strong narcotic pain reliever, but it’s frequently abused for a sense of euphoria.

Sheldon officers also apprehended a 14-year-old boy from Sheldon on Saturday on drug delivery charges. He was charged with Delivery of Oxycodone and Delivery of Morphine. The boy was referred to juvenile court.
