Sheldon Police Handle Theft, ID Theft Reports, Parking Lot Accident

Officers took a report of the theft of 20 Oxycodone pills from an apartment on North Washington Avenue. The theft is thought to have occurred on Saturday, December 28th between 1 and 3 PM. Oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance, available only by prescription. The pills were valued at $25.

The police report they apprehended a 15-year-old Sheldon student and referred the case to the welfare agency. He was charged with serious assault on December 31st, 2013.

The Police also took a report of ID theft on a Sears MasterCard from someone who lives in Sheldon. It’s thought to have happened at a Sears in Pennsylvania in November.


A Sanborn man’s pickup and a Sheldon woman’s SUV were damaged in an accident on Tuesday, December 31 in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 3:50 PM, 29-year-old Christopher Wolters of Sanborn was eastbound in the Hy-Vee Parking Lot, in a 2008 Chevy pickup. Fifty-two-year-old Lori Fischer of Sheldon was northbound in an aisle between rows of cars in a 2012 Nissan SUV.

Wolters was backing out of a parking spot when he struck the driver’s door of the Fischer vehicle.

Fischer’s Nissan SUV received $2000 damage. Wolters’s Chevy pickup was not damaged.

There were no injuries reported.
