Sheldon Police Handle Two Accidents

Sheldon PD carSheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Police Department handled two non-injury accidents recently:

A Sheldon man’s SUV and a Sheldon woman’s car were damaged in an accident on Wednesday, January 8 in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 10:40 AM, 53-year-old Kevin Cain of Sheldon was southbound on Third Avenue in a 2013 Chevy SUV. Fifty-four-year-old Karla Lammers of Sheldon was westbound on Wyman Street in a 2013 Dodge.

The report says Cain was adjusting the radio and entered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign. Lammers struck the Cain vehicle in the driver’s door.

Cain’s Chevy SUV received $3000 damage. Lammers’ Dodge received $7000 damage.

There were no injuries reported.

Cain was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.


A Hull woman’s SUV and a Sanborn teen’s car were damaged in an accident on Thursday, January 9 in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 4:30 PM, 26-year-old Rosimeire Santos of Hull was westbound on Ninth Street in a 2001 Ford SUV. Seventeen-year-old Brian Klein of Sanborn was also westbound behind Santos on Ninth in a 2003 Chevy.

Klien rear-ended the Santos vehicle at the intersection of Sixth Avenue.

Santos’ Ford SUV received $1500 damage. Klein’s Chevy received $500 damage.

There were no injuries reported.

Klien was charged with Failure to Maintain Control. Santos was charged with Operating with an Expired Driver’s License.
