Sheldon Police Investigating Arson Fire, Reward Offered

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Police Department is seeking information into an arson crime that took place this past weekend at the Sheldon City Park.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at about 11:30 Sunday night, June 10th, when suspects set a small fire in a restroom at the park, and also started a fire in a trash receptacle close to the Playground Paradise area of the park. Police say the fire in the restroom was small, and didn’t cause much damage, but the fire in the trash receptacle destroyed it, resulting in several hunderd dollars in damage.

The O’Brien County Crime Dusters program is offering a $300 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator or perpetrators of this crime.
