Sheldon Police Report Two Recent Break-Ins, One Accident

The police say they took reports of two recent burglaries. The first one happened at an apartment on Pine Street. Stolen were two $100 bills from the top of the kitchen table. A window screen, valued at $20 was also damaged in the break-in. It happened sometime between 8:30 AM and 10:40 PM on Monday (8/26/13).

The second burglary was reported at Prairie Queen Bakery. It happened between 1:45 AM and 5 AM on Tuesday (8/27/13). Taken was a blue neon bag containing $354 in cash. The denomination and number of the bills was listed on the report.

A Sheldon woman’s car and a Orange City woman’s car were damaged in an accident on Wednesday (8/28/13) in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 7:30 AM, 28-year-old Shelly Phillips of Sheldon was northbound on South Fifth Avenue in a 2003 Ford. Twenty-seven-year-old Sarah Dykstra of Orange City was eastbound on 16th Street in a 2006 Ford.

The report says Phillips stopped at the stop sign, but then proceeded into the path of the Dykstra vehicle, and the two collided.

Phillips’s Ford received $3500 damage. Dykstra’s Ford received $2500 damage.

There were no injuries reported.

Phillips was charged with Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign and No Proof of Insurance.
