Sheldon Police Take Report Of Broken Window, Cover Property Damage Accident

The police took a report of a broken 30 by 48 window at the apartment building at 316 Park Street on Monday, December 9. The police are investigating.


An Everly woman’s car and a Hospers man’s car were damaged in an accident on Monday, December 9 in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 7:55 PM, 23-year-old Amanda Slunecka of Everly was eastbound on Highway 18 in a 1997 Pontiac. Fifty-seven-year-old James Pohlen of Hospers was also eastbound on 18, ahead of Slunecka in a 2007 Chevy.

Pohlen had stopped for the stoplight at Eighteenth Avenue. Slunecka attempted to stop but due to road conditions, slid into the Pohlen car.

Slunecka’s Pontiac received $1500 damage. Pohlen’s Chevy received $1500 damage.

There were no injuries reported.
