Sheldon Police Take Several Theft Reports

On Tuesday, January 15th, the police arrested 58-year-old Juan Salas of Sheldon on charges of Driving While Barred and Third Offense OWI. He was taken into custody and transported to jail in Primghar.
On Wednesday night or Thursday morning, the 17th or 18th, someone stole guns and a bow from an address on Ninth Avenue. Stolen were about $1450 in guns, two bows, valued at a total of $250, and a wallet containing credit cards, a driver’s license and $30 in cash.
The police also investigated the theft of a 2003 Ford Windstar van, valued at $6,000 from an address on 14th Street. That happened during the same time period as the gun theft. The van was recovered later in the day.
On Friday, January 18th, the Sheldon Police say they took a report that someone stole a Cobra CB radio with mounting bracket from an address on 16th Street.
Also on Friday, the police took a report of a Kenwood car stereo and a $10 bill being stolen overnight from a truck parked in the parking lot at 405 Pine Street. The stereo was valued at $300.
Also on Friday, the police took a report of another overnight theft from a vehicle. This one happened while the vehicle was parked in the garage A Garmin GPS and a radar detector, a checkbook, and assorted credit cards and $600 in scrip cards, valued at a combined total of $850 were taken.
They also took a report that sometime between Tuesday the 15th and Friday the 18th, someone damaged the two right side tires on a vehicle in the parking lot of 1430 Oak Street. They were valued at $240.
The Sheldon Police took the report of a bad two-party check issued to Hy-Vee on Sunday, January 13th. The check was originally drawn on an account owned by Coral Cleaning Company of Sheldon, in the amount of $461.
Sheldon Officers also arrested 29-year-old Anthony White of Ashton on a charge of Second Offense OWI. He was taken into custody and taken to jail in Primghar.
The police also cited 24-year-old Emily Dubois on Sunday (1/20) on a charge of Driving Under Suspension. She was cited and released.
