Sheldon School Board Meets Monday December 10th

Date posted - December 9, 2012

There will be a Public Hearing Monday evening during the regular monthly meeting of the Sheldon Community School District Board of Education.

The hearing will be held at 7:45 p.m. and will concern the proposed continuation of the Instructional Support Levy for the Sheldon District.  The Board will also consider a resolution to continue participation in the levy, as well as a date for the issue to be brought before District voters.

In other action, the Board will also take up an employee resignation.  KIWA has learned that District Business Manager and Board Secretary Bill Borchers has submitted his resignation effective June 30, 2013.

The Board is also scheduled to get updates on the proposed East Elementary Building Remodel/Addition project, as well as the Ball Fields/Rec Project during their Monday meeting.  In addition, they’ll review specifications for the purchase of a pair of new school buses, and deal with a trio of open enrollment applications.  Two of those are for siblings who have moved from the Sheldon District and are asking to open enroll into the Boyden-Hull District, and one who has moved from the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn District into the Sheldon District, and wishes to open enroll into the Sheldon District.

The Sheldon School Board will deal with these matters and others when they meet Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library.
