Sheldon Street Crews Ready For Winter

Sheldon, Iowa — December has arrived, and although we have only seen one small snowfall so far this season, the Sheldon City Street Crews stand ready for a snowy winter.

Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl says his crews have been working to make sure the plow trucks are ready to go.

Sheldon has an eleven member Steet Department Crew who hit the streets once the snow falls. If the snow is paticularly heavy, Uhl says they augment the crew with private contractors.

Even though there’s no snow forecast in our immediate future, we know it’s coming sooner or later, and Sheldon Street Crews are ready to clear the snow off the more than 30-miles of streets in the City of Sheldon.
