Sheldon Students Plan FFA Week Activities

ffaNorthwest Iowa — Each year, during the week of George Washington’s birthday, FFA members, advisors, alumni and supporters celebrate the organization’s contributions to local schools, communities and the agriculture industry through National FFA Week.

We talked to Sheldon High School FFA Instructor Gene Bomgaars who told about some of the things happening during FFA Week 2017.

One of the activities for the Sheldon FFA is the Sub-District Leadership Conference, which is this (Tuesday, February 21st) afternoon at Sibley-Ocheyedan High School, where they’ll be competing against FFA members from 11 area schools.  In addition, Bomgaars says Wednesday will be FFA t-shirt day.  He talks about the remainder of the week’s activities.

Bomgaars calls FFA a “great opportunity” for the kids involved.

This year’s Sheldon FFA is made up of approximately 40 students, and Bomgaars says that number is very consistent from year to year.
