I would like to see stats on the timing of the yellow light at that intersection, and see where that falls in line with any state laws that stipulate the timing of the length of the yellow light, and how soon the opposite light turns green, when the yellow light switches to red.
In my opinion that light seems to go from yellow to red way too fast, and that is the major reason for the high accident rate, and conflicting stories at that intersection. It changes in the blink-of-an-eye, and if it’s not programmable, it should be.
there will be more wrecks and crashes to come untl the local police dept. starts wrighting tickets for speeding on high. 18 and elsewhere — a lot of people think the outside lane is a 45-50 mph limit — they get in front of you then have to make a left hand turn—why not do it behind someone instead of in front??? what is the big hurry ? when you are only going one block more anyhow? where does the local police hang out all the time? i sure dont see them until after the crash !!maybe someone has to get killed before they get out there and get control of the speeders and red light runners — hope not!!
