Sheldon Woman And Passenger Sustain “Possible Injuries” In Crash South Of George
Date posted - June 17, 2013
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 12:15 AM, 20-year-old Haley Heusinkveld of Sheldon, was driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on county blacktop A46, the county road going west out of Ashton. The report says Heusinkveld was talking to her passenger and was distracted. She did not see the stop sign at the intersection of L14 and A46, a mile south of George, and she went through the stop sign. The road turns to gravel west of that intersection, and Heusinkveld was unable to control her vehicle as she continued westbound. It slid into the north ditch where it flipped over onto its top.
Both Heusinkveld and her passenger sustained possible injuries, but were not transported by ambulance.
The car sustained about $8000 in damages.
Heusinkveld was citied for Failure to Maintain Control.
