Sheldon Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident

Newkirk, Iowa — A Sheldon woman was taken to a hospital as the result of an accident near Newkirk on Friday, March 16th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:25 p.m., 29-year-old Jaime Anzua of Sheldon was driving a 2005 Ford F150 eastbound on 400th Street, or B40, five miles east of Sioux Center, or four miles west of Newkirk. They report that 46-year-old Stacie Hurlburt of Sheldon was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Venture westbound on 400th Street.

According to the report, Hurlburt lost control of her vehicle and struck the Ford.

They report that the Orange City Ambulance Squad took Hurlburt to the Orange City Health System Hospital.

Anzua’s Ford pickup sustained about $10,000 in damage. Hurlburt’s Chevrolet sustained about $8,000 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Orange City Fire Department and the Orange City Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
