Sheldon’s Downtown Grand Reopening Set For TONIGHT

Sheldon, Iowa — The new planters that were recently approved by the Sheldon City Council were recently installed downtown as the finishing touch to the downtown infrastructure project, just in time for the Downtown Grand Reopening.

Downtown 2Downtown 1The Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation, and the downtown businesses, will celebrate the Grand Reopening of Sheldon’s downtown tonight from 5 to 9 pm, and will begin with the official Ribbon Cutting, which is scheduled at 5 o’clock, at the corner of 9th Street and 3rd Avenue in downtown Sheldon.

Chamber Director Allison Cooke says Monday night’s festivities are designed as a thank you to Sheldon shoppers.

From 5 to 7 pm, a Grand Reopening Picnic will be held downtown, with the O’Brien County Cattlemen on hand to grill burgers. ¬†Cooke tells us more.

Cooke says Sheldon’s Moonlite Crewzers Car Club will be on hand for a show of antique, classic and muscle cars during the celebration.

Cooke tells us that the MAC Band, will be performing throughout Monday evening’s festivities.

In addition, Cooke says there will be plenty of activities for the kids tonight, including face painting by Rise Ministries to benefit Risefest, and inflatables for the little ones to play on.

Tonight’s Downtown Grand Reopening Celebration runs from 5 to 9 pm, in the downtown Sheldon business district.
