Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s newest convenience store is open and serving the public. City and community leaders were on hand on Friday to cut a ribbon and give some accolades to Casey’s for their brand new store at the corner of Old Highway 60 and Highway 18 in Sheldon.
City Manager Scott Wynja represented the City of Sheldon.
Next, Mark Klienwolterink spoke on behalf of the Sheldon Chamber and Development.
KIWA’s own Tom Traughber spoke on behalf of the Sheldon Ambassadors.
KIWA’s Mark Rector next introduced the manager of the new Casey’s.
We talked to Bill Walljasper, Senior Vice President and CFO of Casey’s corporate in Ankeny back in July, and he told us what to expect at the new Casey’s.
He says they intend to sell the old Casey’s across the street — the one that used to be Kum and Go, and before that, SuperAmerica.
Starting January 1st, the new Casey’s will be the only 24-hour convenience store in Sheldon. Until then, they are open regular hours.
